Updated CalPERS Industrial Disability Retirement Regulations that Human Resources Professionals Need to Know

CalPERS issued new regulations for determining whether public safety workers are “substantially incapacitated” for the purposes of disability retirement, including a new documentation requirement. The new regulations, coupled with already complex workers’ compensation rules, make this a challenging process for human resources professionals.
