Staying Connected with the League

Jun 30, 2020
Communication is the key for uniting members and having a strong voice in the state Capitol to advocate for top city priorities. The League is continually evolving and expanding our means of communication. See all the different ways to connect and stay updated on current issues!

Connect Through Social Media
Social media remains a critical tool to keep California cities up to date on all the League’s news, including advocacy and educational updates, key takeaways (and photos!) from conferences and events, and a plethora of information designed to help California city officials serve their residents.

Follow, like, share, and engage with the League on: Mayors PSA Video
California mayors got in front of the camera to thank residents and essential workers for their role in battling COVID-19. "Dear California, We Will Emerge Even Stronger, Together." has been added to our YouTube channel and shared on Twitter and Facebook. The video will also be aired as a commercial on Comcast channels. Watch and share the video today!

LocalWorks Initiative
The League has used social media prior to and throughout the pandemic to highlight the amazing and innovative ways cities support their communities. Through our newly formed Instagram account, @CACities, we have launched the #LocalWorks initiative to shine the spotlight on examples of local actions that are making a difference to their communities. To continue seeing how #LocalWorks, follow our Instagram page.

Support Local Recovery Social Media Toolkit
The League has created a social media tool kit for the Support Local Recovery coalition to spread the word in our call for direct funding from the state and federal governments to help cities address the devastating fiscal impact of COVID-19. Help share this important campaign far and wide by visiting the Support Local Recovery social media toolkit.

Exchange Ideas and Poll your City Peers
Do you ever wonder what other cities have done about a particular issue? Join a League listserv for your department and post questions, provide resources to other cities, or poll colleagues on current issues in your field. Member city officials and staff must subscribe to a listserv to become an active participant and send or receive inquiries. Review the Listserv categories and sign up for one today!
