Call for Session Proposals Closing Soon for Upcoming Conferences

These conference sessions are an opportunity to share best practices, innovative approaches, and problem-solving insight with California cities.
Municipal Finance Institute — Dec. 9-10 in Monterey*
Provides essential information for city officials and staff involved in fiscal planning for municipalities. Submit ideas by June 30.
City Managers Conference — Feb. 3-5, 2021 in Carlsbad*
Geared to the unique needs of city managers, this conference covers issues affecting cities throughout California. Submit ideas by June 30.
Public Works Officers Institute — March 17-19, 2021 in La Jolla*
Designed for professionals at every career level, this conference covers current developments in public works. Submit ideas by Aug. 7.
*The League is actively monitoring the response to COVID-19 and considering impacts on mass gatherings. In anticipation that we will once again be able to gather for these events, the League is continuing the planning process. At the same time, the League is also considering options to move the important programming to a virtual or hybrid conference setting.
How to Submit
New this year, the League has expanded the types of session formats for most conferences. In addition to submitting for a traditional-style panel presentation, session crafters are encouraged to be creative with their suggested session types. A category for alternative formats is available, view complete details for more information.
Sessions may not include sales, commercialism or product promotion of any kind. Ideas need to be fully completed and submitted through the online proposal form to be considered by the committee. There is a limit to the amount of words allowed within the title and description of each proposal. The League recommends writing your proposal in a word-processing program first, and pasting the final version into the online form.
