Updated SB 1 Press Toolkit Available

Jan 2, 2018
Approximately $750 million dollars annually will go directly to cities for street maintenance and rehabilitation projects. Cities are being encouraged to promote the positive effects of SB 1 in their communities by issuing press releases, op-eds, and social media posts whenever a project funded by SB 1 begins or ends.

The League of California Cities® recently updated the SB 1 media toolkit for cities to use to announce their SB 1 funded projects and ensure that their residents have information about how their city will be investing in their local infrastructure.

This toolkit comprises:
  • Talking points;
  • Sample ordinance;
  • Press release;
  • Sample social media posts;
  • Sample op-eds; and
  • The SB 1 logo.
It is critical that cities demonstrate the benefits these dollars will bring to their communities. These materials are also located on the League’s website, along with general information on transportation funding.

If you have questions about submitting your project list, please contact League Legislative Policy Analyst Derek Dolfie.
