President Daniel Parra appoints 2024 policy committee chairs and vice chairs

League of California Cities President Daniel Parra announced his chair and vice chair appointments for the 2024 policy committees. The leadership appointments set the stage for the committees’ work, which begins this week when they hold their first meetings. The work of the committees lays the foundation for Cal Cities' strong, year-round advocacy on behalf of cities.

President Parra’s appointments are as follows:

Community Services

  • Holly Tillman, Council Member, Clayton (Chair)
  • Rachel Hernandez, Council Member, Riverbank (Vice Chair)

Environmental Quality

  • Illece Buckley Weber, Mayor, Agoura Hills (Chair)
  • Max Perrey, Council Member, Mill Valley (Vice Chair)

Governance, Transparency, and Labor Relations

  • Frank Yokoyama, Council Member, Cerritos (Chair)
  • Jaime Patino, Council Member, Union City (Vice Chair)

Housing, Community, and Economic Development

  • Yvonne Martinez Beltran, Council Member, Morgan Hill (Chair)
  • Wes Speake, Council Member, Corona (Vice Chair)

Public Safety

  • Claudia M. Frometa, Council Member, Downey (Chair)
  • Tessa Rudnick, Mayor, El Cerrito (Vice Chair)

Revenue and Taxation

  • Kuldip Thusu, Council Member, Dinuba (Chair)

Cal Cities’ policymaking process creates a platform for city leaders to discuss the top issues facing California’s cities and establish the organization's policy directions. Over 400 city officials serve on policy committees and add their collective expertise, wisdom, and opinions to the organization. Policy committee recommendations are forwarded to the Cal Cities Board of Directors for action.
