Discuss common issues and connect with peers during department meetings at the 2023 Annual Conference and Expo

Jun 21, 2023

Registration is now open for the League of California Cities Annual Conference and Expo at the Safe Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento. Last year’s annual conference drew over 2,000 California city officials for three days of learning, inspiration, and sharing.

An easy way to meet like-minded professionals at the annual conference is by attending a Cal Cities department meeting. Departments are made up of city leaders in similar professions throughout California. Department members receive access to tailored, cutting-edge professional development and help shape Cal Cities’ advocacy by serving on the Board of Directors and policy committees.

During the annual conference, department members gather to discuss common challenges, hear timely legislative updates, and brainstorm solutions for their work on unified department goals, setting the course for positive change within their communities.

Find your department meeting and add it to your calendar.

Registration and hotels

Conference registration is required to attend all conference activities, including department meetings. Full conference registration includes access to general and concurrent sessions, the expo, most receptions, Wednesday’s host city reception, Thursday’s lunch with exhibitors, and Friday’s closing lunch. Before July 27, registration for all three days starts at $650 for city officials from any member city.

After July 26, full conference registration for city officials is $700.

There are several hotels surrounding the convention center and a limited number of hotel rooms are available at reduced rates for registered attendees. After registering for the conference, attendees will receive a link to the discounted hotel rooms in a confirmation email. Discounted hotel rates are available until Aug. 25, or until rooms sell out — whichever comes first.

Consider traveling to the annual conference on the morning of Sept. 20, as there are only a few discounted hotel rooms remaining for the evening of Sept. 19. The official start of the conference is the Opening General Session, which begins at 1:30 p.m.

Cal Cities strives to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. To request reasonable accommodations, please contact Conference Registrar Megan Dunn as soon as possible.

Individuals falsely claiming to be the housing bureau/service for the 2023 Annual Conference and Expo may attempt to contact you. Cal Cities has contracted with LiveCon as the official housing service for the annual conference. Official emails regarding the conference will come from a calcities.org or live-con.com email account and the actual hotel.
